As a teacher using a blog would be very helpful in my future classroom to get information across. I could use the blog to upload homework assignments for the day. This could help parents and students check to see if they have homework and what it is. The blog could be used for posting videos of me teaching a math lesson or another lesson for students to review if they need help. A student who is sick could even look at my blog and see what we are doing that day. The only problems I could think of with using a blog is that some students do not have access to the internet or a computer at home. So, they would not be able to see the video of me doing a math problem or see the homework posted. Another issue that could arise is that not all students and parents are technological savvy either. Otherwise I think using a blog would be very helpful in my future classroom to get information across.

  1. Yes, access is an issue, so if you think blogging is beneficial, consider whether the extra effort in accommodating everyone is worth the benefits. Also, consider two-way communication with blogs between parents, students, and teachers.
